We do our research very thoroughly and in that way decide about our next travel destination. We make specific travel tours, which sometimes seem too harsh for others. It doesn’t have too much sense to go somewhere you don’t like, so we search online for famous monuments, historical facts, viewpoints and in that way determine the tempo and the plan – where to look, what to see, photoshoots, flying with the drone. When we finish all that, the road is ours. Next adventure starts.
Our primary location was Laganas, the village and the beach of the island of Zakynthos. People party there pretty hard. Not our cup of tea, however, it was exciting and fun to walk every night through the crowded streets, listen to the mixture of different songs which got into our ears, try all kind of food delicacies on every corner and meet pleasant people. We couldn’t completely relax with those annoying guys that work like restaurant and cafes representation. They made walks painful, both for them and us. They just do their job, but as a tourist, you have to prepare yourself for them to go to your side and grab you by your sleeve. Their goal is to convince you to go and drink or eat something in their restaurant, so be aware that subtlety is not their biggest virtue.
Considering that the island has it all, you can stay there or find a more quiet side. The beach was a remarkable surrounding for us to spend the evenings. Calm sea and the fantastic view with the debris of the moonlight in the still surface entirely add up to the perfect scenery.
It is difficult to count the types of transport, and the choices offered to tourists on the island, both with or without the guide. However, we decided to make our tour, so we rented a car and went to explore the island ourselves with the beautiful and pleasant September day ahead of us.
You can read about the incredible things we saw on our small trip around the island in our next post: Zakynthos II: The Journey
